Mayor C. Andre Daniels, Deputy Mayor Abraham López and Committeewoman Smith-Hartman issued the following joint statement in response to the Township's response to Winter Storm Jonas:

Throughout Winter Storm Jonas, our Township Public Works, Police and Emergency Services personnel have been working around the clock to ensure the safety and clear passage of our citizens. They continue to do so, plowing our streets and assisting with those in need.  For example, Mr. Mike Meenan, Director of the Department of Public Works has worked tirelessly for 30 consecutive hours, plowing roads and supervising the activities of his personnel.

You have spoken to us, both with constructive criticism and praise, which we humbly accept and appreciate.  We take this moment to praise you, our community; for your patience, cooperation and for your many selfless acts of kindness to help your fellow citizens.  These small gestures help to build a community and, together we can learn from these experiences to strengthen the fabric of a united community.

We will keep you fully apprised of our progress and of responding to your concerns.  Should you have any storm-related concerns, please call our Township staff at 609-267-1891.  Finally, please be mindful of the following:

Sidewalks must be shoveled and de-iced within 24 hours of a storm.
As many cars as possible should be moved off the street to allow for thorough snow plowing.

Cars are required to be off the street in the Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Eastl Deerwood Country Club and Westampton Woods developments or risk being towed at the owner's expense.

Sand/salt will be spread on main intersections, hills and primary roads only.
Please proceed slowly and carefully on secondary residential streets.

For the time being, there are only so many places on which to pile snow; they create hazards and blind spots; therefore, please do not allow students to wait on the street for school buses and drive with extra caution near school buses!

We Thank You!
