Domestic Violence Response Team

REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS

The Westampton Township, Eastampton, Lumberton and Mount Holly Police Departments, in collaboration with Providence House - Domestic Violence Services - Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, are currently recruiting volunteers for a Domestic Violence Response Team. The team members will work in conjunction with police to provide support, information and referral at the time of a domestic violence crisis. the team is already operational and the need to recruit new volunteers to augment the existing staffing level is imminent. Providence House and the aforementioned police departments are committed to a multi-racial, multi-ethnic team to serve the community in the best manner possible.

Applicants meet the following standards:
  • Applicants must be 18 years years of age or older
  • Live or work in the Burlington County area
  • Have access to transportation
  • Possess a valid drivers license
  • Be willing to volunteer to serve 4, 12 hour shifts each month
  • Submit to a background investigation - including fingerprinting.
A forty hour mandatory intensive training course will be held over a 6 - 8 week period, during evening hours and will be provided to successful applicants. An understanding of domestic violence issues is a plus, as well as bi-lingual capability. Interested citizens should call the following contacts:
