Trash Collection:

  • You cannot mix any recyclable material in with your trash.  If you do so, your trash will not be picked up.  Our hauler is fined if recyclable material is in their load.
  • You must use cans or heavy duty bags, do not place trash out in cardboard boxes.
  • Pickup once a week, Monday or Thursday - see schedule below
  • No trash pick up on major holidays - New Years, Memorial, July 4th, Labor, Thanksgiving, Christmas - if the holiday is on a Monday, your trash will be picked up on Wednesday; if holiday is on a Thursday - your trash will be picked up on Saturday
  • Place at curb by 6 AM; cans cannot be placed at curb prior to evening before
  • Cans cannot weigh over 40 pounds
  • No earth material - soil, stones, mulch, etc. or car parts
  • Construction material: Contractors are responsible for removal and disposal of construction material. Small amounts will be collected for homeowners doing their own work but no more than two containers each trash day.
  • Wood/fences – no longer accepted in the trash; you must dispose of at the landfill
  • Brush too small for chipper – must be tied in bundles or bagged; no more than 4 bundles at curb each trash day
  • Appliance pickup the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month; call by Monday to be put on list
  • Large trash items – one item only each trash day
  • Carpet must be cut into 4 foot wide sections and rolled up into bundles no larger than 2 feet in diameter
  • Grass clippings can be placed in trash, but cannot be mixed with leaves
  • No electronics in trash.  This includes all computer components, printers, phones, cell phones, VCR's, CD's, DVD's, small appliances and rechargeable batteries.  TV's must be taken to the County Landfill or the Goodwill on Route 38.  For all other electronic items, there is a drop box at the Recycling area at the Municipal Building.
  • We will no longer pick up trash for "move outs".  If you are moving and have a large amount of trash, you will need to contract for a dumpster and get a township permit.  We will no longer collect large amounts of trash left at the curb.
